I've been asking myself if any of us ever does something without first being encouraged by someone or something? True, our primordial instincts, our hunger and thirst for whatever, are great encouragers; yet they are not strong when we are alone in feeling that nobody cares about us. Our instincts are definitely not sufficient to encourage us to accomplish significant goals; we have to rely on our fellow-man. Our survival and growth depends on the encouragement we receive from others.
Dictionaries define encouragement as the act of giving hope or support to someone. Of course, this is what encouragement is. However, according to my perspective on hope, a desire paralysed by reality, encouragement is much more than only giving hope and support. To rest on our laurels and ‘hope for the best’ is surely not the ‘hope’ of those who are spending their precious time in encouraging us. Surely they expect us to actively achieve whatever they believe we are able to accomplish. Just contemplate
some of the synonyms of encouraging: advocate, promote, boost, urge, prompt, propel...
So, suffice it to say that encouragement is much more than the act of giving hope or support. I see encouragement as a powerful human force that ignites and feeds DESIRE in the minds of others until that desire explodes into action, the action of accomplishing something.

This new website of mine was not a hope, but a desire that was ignited some years ago while I was still surfing the Internet just for the fun of it. Just like a fetus in the womb of a woman, this desire has grown in the back of my mind. It could have grown there for another year or two if it was not for the encouragement of three particular online friends: Maria Jordan, Angelia Phillips and Shauna Bowling. Without realizing it, by merely being role models leading by example, they have fed my desire until it became too big for the back of my mind. I had to give birth to it, groaning and moaning. Not knowing how to create a website, battling with all the technical stuff involved, it was indeed painful. This website is out and out my desire in ‘flesh and bone’.
I would like to call Maria, Angelia and Shauna my P.P.’s.... my ‘personal propellers’.

Angelia Phillips (P.P.) aka femmeflashpoint, at flashnee.com, is an enthusiastic writer and website operator with a marvelous sense of humor She has introduced Weebly to us with so much energy that our desire to have our personal websites became an unbearable urge, we simply had to give it a try. I see Angelia in this quote of one of my favorite encouragers.
“It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed.” - Napoleon Hill.
Maria Jordan (P.P.) aka marcoujor at marcoujor.com is the most supportive friend a person can have on this planet. I call her my online sister. She tends to hide her deep, sensitive and serious nature with everyday cheerfulness. When I told her that I didn't have time available to devote to a website, she understood. In the meantime, she kept on encouraging me by creating her own beautiful website. Unintentionally, she fed my desire until I had no choice but to follow suit. I see her in this quote ...
Napoleon Hill: Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice, and is never the result of selfishness.”
Shauna Bowling (P.P.) aka Bravewarrior at shaunalbowling.com. Now this woman is a go-getter true to her username. With her inspirational, straight-forward ramblings, as she calls them, and all her endeavors as a full-time copy-writer she has actually prompted me to give Weebly at least a try. I see Shauna in this quote :
“Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit.” - Napoleon HillStuart Miles @ freedigitalphotos.net
Maria, Angelia and Shauna, and others I intend to feature as time permits, made me ponder about encouragement. And so, I have dissected it to the bone.
Please read my hub about encouragement and if you agree, please like it. By doing this, you will literally pay the proverbial pennies for my thoughts.
I thank you in anticipation :)
